Here’s some of the more recent character work I’ve been doing in the Unreal Engine 3. I just got started posting things here so I’ll be adding some of the WWE vs Smackdown stuff soon.
The wrestler head was modeled by Mike Blake, a co-worker at Black Point Studios. I only did a bit of touch up here and there. Once that was done, the materials and shaders were built in Unreal. The rigging and weight mapping was adjusted in Maya using quite a lot of joints.
The Koala bear was done in Houdini and Deep Paint 3D. The fur description was added in Houdini. The modeling was done by another staffer at CORE Feature Animation, not sure who it was. I also did the fur description on the two dogs to the left and right of the drooling poodle.
Super Crazy, the wrestler was modeled and textured in Max and painted in BodyPaint 3D. The images were screen grabs from the xBox 360 devkit.
The kung-fu kid was a quick model one weekend with full facefx applied in Unreal Engine 3. About a single day’s of work in that guy, came out pretty good for a speed model.
